Chocolate Chip Cookies - A Recipe

When Drew and I were engaged, I would travel from Rexburg to Inkom (pretty much every weekend) to see him. And pretty much every weekend, his family would make chocolate chip cookies. The Wright family takes chocolate chip cookies VERY seriously. It isn't just a cookie recipe, it is a work of art!

So from that point on, the pressure was on! Learn how to make perfect the Wright Family chocolate chip cookie recipe! {Which I have since found out is just the recipe from the Nestle Milk Chocolate Chips bag.} I can't say I have perfected it, but they still taste fabulous and Drew loves them too! I think this is his favorite craving of mine so far... 

















Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened (We use Crisco)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips (or the whole bag;)

PREHEAT oven to 375° F.

COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets. 

BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
